🌿 A Weekend at Khallikote University: Science, Sustainability & a Room Full of Curiosity
Some academic invitations feel routine — and then there are those rare moments that remind you why research still excites you. My recent visit to Khallikote Unitary University, Berhampur , for their National Conference on “Next Gen Life Science: Genes to Ecosystems” (18–19 April 2026) was one such experience. I had the privilege of representing KISS‑DU as an invited speaker, and the two days were filled with meaningful conversations, bright young minds, and a shared passion for science that stretches from molecules to entire ecosystems. 🧬 My Talk: When Structural Biology Meets Climate Action I spoke on a topic: “In Silico Structural Characterization of Vacuolar NHX1 Transporters in Avicennia marina : Insights into Molecular Mechanisms of Salt Tolerance.” Behind the technical title lies a simple, powerful idea: Understanding how a mangrove survives salt can help us build climate‑resilient agriculture. During the session, I highlighted how this research contributes directly to: SDG 2:...
